Bald Women Checkout The Podcast, Those Bald Chicks!

Ladies with hair loss, have you heard about the incredible podcast called Those Bald Chicks? Life as a bald women isn't easy, so this podcast is a perfect resource for anyone with alopecia, experiencing hair loss, or loved ones who are trying to learn about alopecia. As I mentioned in my blog post about alopecia, it's important to surround yourself with a team of people who are going through the same thing as you. When I lost my hair, I had to resort to watching YouTube videos, attending NAAF support groups, and scouring Instagram, but today we are so lucky because there are a lot more resources for us!

The podcast, Those Bald Chicks, is incredibly convenient, private, and easy to access. Many resources for women with alopecia or hair loss require extensive planning and commitment. I remember trying to attend NAAF meetings when my son was a baby and struggling with coordinating child care. Not to mention, many of us are very private about our hair loss so chiming into a podcast is an easy way to get support. You can simply go on a walk and listen to Paige and Amber chat about very real topics like dating with alopecia or how to address it in the workplace. Their mom edition series, where they interview their moms, is particularly heartwarming. It made me laugh and cry and I just wanted to reach out and give them a big hug!

What I adore about this podcast is its authenticity. Both Paige and Amber have alopecia, and they openly discuss real issues. It's not just about hair loss but about the emotional and social impacts alopecia has on us. In other words, it will help you and others truly understand what life is like for women with alopecia. It will help you understand and connect with your own feelings about alopecia and how to live an amazing bald life. I honestly can not say enough amazing things about it! They also feature guests, including baldie business owners, listen to my guest appearance here, making it a diverse and enlightening listen. If you're looking to build a support network of beautiful baldie resources, this podcast should be at the top of your list. As I have said, it's an excellent resource, and I cannot recommend it enough.

OTHER ALOPECIA RESOURCES I ENJOY

  1. NAAF new mentorship program - which is an incredible opportunity to connect with someone who understands alopecia. This program serves as a platform to share feelings and receive helpful advice for anyone experiencing hair loss

  2. Bald Tourage - a virtual dance lesson and confidence club founded by Christie Valdiserri, a well-known model who has appeared in Sports Illustrated. It is an empowering experience to witness others confidently rocking their bald heads.

  3. The Breasties - is an organization that provides support and community to anyone but they specifically center around women with breast cancer. Their annual event, Camp Breasties , is a one-of-a-kind gathering that truly celebrates the power of unity and acceptance.

Above all, if you are experiencing alopecia or hair loss for the first time, I encourage you to refer to all of these resources because they will help make hair loss a little bit more easier and who knows, you may even build all new group of teammates! Some of the most amazing people I have ever met have alopecia and I think that someday you will say the same thing!

Much Love,

Allison, Founder of Encelia Hair
